Introduction to the Course

In this course, beginners will learn what options are, how they work, and why they’re used. You’ll also learn how to read an option chain and what affects option prices.

Module 1:The Idea Behind Options

This module introduces the foundational concepts needed to understand options. Learners will explore what derivatives are, how they connect to underlying assets, why traders use them, and the different types such as futures, swaps, forwards, and options.

Module 2: Why People Trade Options

In this module, we explain the four main reasons traders use options: hedging, speculation, income generation, and leverage. Learners will see why options are popular across different market conditions and how each purpose affects risk and reward.

Module 3: Option Pricing Factors

This module explains the main factors that influence option prices, including the movement of the underlying asset, time decay, volatility, interest rates, dividends, and major market events.
