Introduction to the Course

In this course, beginners will learn what options are, how they work, and why they’re used. The course starts with the basics of stocks vs options, then dives into call and put contracts, who buys vs sells them, and the key terms every trader needs to understand. You’ll also learn how to read an option chain and what affects option prices.

Module 1:The Idea Behind Options

This module introduces the foundational concepts needed to understand options. Learners will explore what derivatives are, how they connect to underlying assets, why traders use them, and the different types such as futures, swaps, forwards, and options.

Module 2: Why People Trade Options

In this module, we explain the four main reasons traders use options: hedging, speculation, income generation, and leverage. Learners will see why options are popular across different market conditions and how each purpose affects risk and reward.

Module 3: Option Pricing Factors

This module explains the main factors that influence option prices, including the movement of the underlying asset, time decay, volatility, interest rates, dividends, and major market events.

Module 4: Option Risks & Greeks

This module explains the key option Greeks—Delta, Theta, Vega, and Gamma. Each Greek measures a different type of risk: price sensitivity, time decay, volatility impact, and how fast Delta changes. Understanding these risks helps traders manage their positions more effectively.

Module 5: How to Start Using Options

In this module, it teaches beginners how to read an options chain and apply options in real trading. It covers symbols, expiration, strike price, bid/ask, option types, and how to place actual option orders.
